AOL – Version 7

In 1997, hardly anyone had even heard of the internet.  By the end of 1998, Connie was the face of it, and propelled AOL to number 1, and the first mass market ISP in the UK.  In terms of the popularity of this iconic internet genie, look no further than The Sun’s headline at the time of the Time Warner – AOL merger:  “CONNIE BUYS BUGS BUNNY!”  Such was the strength of the brand that AOL was able to keep it’s prices much higher than the competition, and still win and keep 3 million subscribers.
